Science: The students were in the lab mixing substances together to create a new material that they could take home. We discussed that making new material by mixing substances together is called a chemical reaction.

Social Studies: The students read the article about Plains Native Americans and practiced highlighting important information from the text. We read it together as a classed and discussed what they should have highlighted.

Writing: Many students continued their writing about Dwight D. Eisenhower. If the students were done, they were to choose an article from the National Geographic magazine to read, highlight, and write two paragraphs about the article they read.
